Eindhoven
By population Eindhoven is the fifth-largest city in the Netherlands. The Eindhoven region is one of the powerhouses of the Dutch economy. Forty percent of all investments in research & development in the Netherlands are made in the Eindhoven region. It holds the third place in the European Innovation Scoreboard.

Eindhoven is also a city of sports: besides PSV's football team the area also excels in swimming and horse riding. There are excellent sports facilities, including swimming pools, hockey fields, ice rinks, an indoor ski and snowboard centre, country clubs, a golf course and some of the best climbing facilities of The Netherlands. The Dutch Climbing Team trains in Monk bouldergym which is part of Eindhovens CTO sportprogram.

Worldcup venue at 18 Septemberplein
The worldcup will take place at the '18 septemberplein' square. This rather new square, designed by Massimiliano Fuksas, is located in the centre of Eindhoven, just a stones throw away from Eindhoven Central Station.
